Chance to tour famous Swinton kiln landmark
On Saturday visitors are being offered a chance to explore the Waterloo Kiln, which was built in 1815 at Swinton Pottery.
Named in honour of the great British naval victory, the kiln became famous for its Rockingham Ware pottery.

Cllr Ken Wyatt, representative for Swinton and a local history buff, said: “With its curious shape, the kiln is a well-known landmark to many people who live in Swinton and to those who enjoy walking by the Pottery Ponds here.
“But very few people will have had the opportunity to explore inside it.
“This is a not-to-be missed opportunity for anyone who is interested in the history of Swinton or Rockingham Pottery.”
