Cake lovers invited to judge Rotherham's answer to Great British Bake-Off

PARISHIONERS are getting their oven gloves on for a big bake-off this weekend.

Residents are being invited to help judge the Great Herringthorpe Bake Off, with Easter-themed cakes to be put on display at Herringthorpe United Reformed Church on Wickersley Road, Stag, from 10am to 2pm on Saturday.

Rev Matt Stone said: “Cakes will be judged at 10am on Saturday based on creativity, presentation and deliciousness.

“We have around 20 entries so far and the aim is to then sell the cakes at £1 a slice in aid of the charities the church supports — Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, Start a Heart 24:7 and International China Concern.
