Bill said that it was the death of a close friend, who was cared for by the hospice, which had prompted him to start fund-raising and he held his first event in 2006.

He added: “The event has been such a great fund-raising success for the Hospice in the pas, and such a fantastic night for everyone, that I’m hopeful of a good turnout.

“Ticket sales are already going really well, so I’d urge people to make a booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment.”

Ticket prices are £40-per-head or £350 for a table of ten.

The event starts at 7pm and is expected to be over by midnight.
