Members of Bawtry Garden Club thoroughly enjoyed the talk entitled Old Tools that was delivered to them by their guest speaker John Moss from Swinderby, Lincolnshire. John gave a fascinating talk and demonstration with the group having to guess the names of his collection of antique tools and equipment used by farmers and craftsmen in times past. They had all stood the test of time compared to some of our modern day equivalents. He also had for sale various sized homemade wooden trugs. The club's trip to Bridlington and Reighton Gap Nursery at the beginning of May went very well. Members of the party managed to fill the coach boot with very reasonably priced plants and shrubs. The sun shone in Bridlington and the fish and chips were good. Sylvia was thanked for organising the enjoyable day trip. Bawtry Garden Club meets again on Tuesday June 4 at 7 pm in the Methodist Church Hall. Sandra Bright is the guest speaker and her topic is My BBC Allotment Challenge. Sylvia can be contacted on 01302 719015 for more information about the club.
