Annual fun day returns to Woodlaithes pub

A POPULAR family fun day will return for a fourth year this weekend in the hope of raising money for life-saving equipment.

Charity Start-a-Heart 24/7 has raised enough cash to install 50 defibrillators across the borough.

The annual fund-raiser in memory of the late am-dram stalwart Stuart Lister will be held at the Woodman pub in Woodlaithes Village on Sunday.

There will be live music from a number of bands including Cafe Rock, a bouncy disco dome, a bouncy assault course as well as a number of stalls.

The charity — founded in Stuart’s memory — aims to provide heart-starting defibrillators in public places around the borough, and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service will be demonstrating the equipment on the day.

It installed its 50th external defibrillator in All Saints Square earlier this month.

The late Rotherham Rep chairman's daughter and charity founder Carrie Platts said: “We feel this is an ideal place to mark this milestone.

“We have been overwhelmed by the response we have had from the communities of Rotherham.”
