It’s festival time for all the family in Wath this weekend

WATH Festival is back this weekend to bring a blend of folk fun and family events to the bank holiday.

The event runs from next Friday to Sunday and includes concerts at All Saints’ Church, Wath Rugby Club and the Burlington Club.

You can join in with a ceilidh at The Burlington on Friday and watch the traditional reading of the will of Thomas Tuke and the throwing of bread rolls from the church spire as part of the May Day Celebration on Saturday.

There will be a market, children's entertainment, a treasure hunt, workshops and performances from local schools and dance groups.

Wath Morris will perform at the church on Sunday at 10.30am, while Sheffield Folk Chorale will be in action at 7pm on Monday.

Common Ground will be on stage at Wath Rugby Club earlier on Saturday afternoon, while Bob Fox and Jez Lowe will lead the Eric Pressley Memorial Concert at the Burlington Club on Sunday night, while there will be traditional “singarounds” at village pubs including Wath Tap.
