Young defender joins Millers

ROTHERHAM United have drafted in young defender Josh Morris on loan from Blackburn Rovers.

Manager Steve Evans made the move after left-back Bob Harris was recalled by parent club Blackpool after a successful month with the Millers.

Morris (21) has come in for a month initially and will be in contention for a start at home to Plymouth Argyle tomorrow when Rotherham gun for a third straight victory. A former England U20 international, he had a loan spell at Yeovil at the end of last season.

Evans said: "This kid is young, energetic, he's got a great left foot and I think the supporters will like him.

"He has played two or three games in the Premier League, including against the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, and we beat off a club near the top of League One to get him."

Evans said he was disappointed to lose Harris.

He added: "I think he's the best left-back in the lower two divisions and he's not had a bad game for us. He'll be a loss but I've said I would like to work with him again."
