Wilson returns to track action

JUSTIN Wilson is back in the cockpit — exactly three months after suffering a fractured pelvis in a horror crash.

The 36-year-old from Rotherham saw his US IndyCar season come to an abrupt halt in October's finale at Calafornia Speedway in Fontana. Wilson lost control late in the race with his car spinning in mid-track, where he was t-boned by rival Tristan Vautier, who had no chance to avoid him.

Wilson was airlifted to hospital where he was diagnosed with three cracks in his pelvis and immobilised for several weeks.

He was given the all-clear in December and returned to training, getting back behind the wheel in testing for tomorrow's big Rolex 24 at Daytona.
