Will wants to get on the pace

ROTHERHAM United’s new midfield general Will Vaulks is finding his feet in South Yorkshire, both on the pitch and off it.

The 22-year-old midfielder – signed from Scottish club Falkirk – has put in two performances that have shown his ability to spot a pass and control a midfield.

However, he has so far been unable to keep it up for 90 minutes, something Vaulks himself puts down to the pace of games south of the border.

The former Tranmere Rovers trainee said: “The Championship is a step up, I played in a few big games up north against the likes of Rangers and Hibs, but I think this league is a lot more physical.

“It’s faster, quicker, the decision-making has to be quicker, I think every step up you make it feels the same.

“When I stepped up from youth team football to the first team it’s the same step, everything is faster. And I think that’s the same from Scotland to the Championship but hopefully I’ll learn that quickly and get used to it."
