'We'll stick together' says Rawson

DEFENDER Farrend Rawson insists the togetherness in the Millers camp will remain intact no matter how tough the going gets.

The woeful defending in Saturday's heavy defeat to Ipswich has left the Derby County loan man and his team-mates with plenty to work on during the international break.

Rawson has still been one of the most consistent members of the back line this term, often playing with a maturity beyond his years. He's still only 19.

Although Rawson's six-month stay at the New York Stadium is due to end in January, he wants to do his bit to keep Rotherham out of harm's way, and that starts with handing new manager Neil Redfearn a first victory.

And, says the centre-half, the squad behind him are as tight as ever and durable enough to deal with the team's plight at the foot of the Championship.

“It shouldn't be difficult to keep motivated and our spirts up,” he said. “We're a squad and we're a tight unit, we all keep each other in check. At the end of the day it's our job to stick together.

“We're all working as hard as we can for the manager and he's working hard for us as well, he's a top guy. He's had a hard run of games, we know that, but we shouldn't be performing like we did against Ipswich.

“In the first half we struggled but we rallied after half time. We can hold our heads up about that but it's all about analysing the goals now and correcting it all and see where we go next game.”
