The win at Blackpool earlier in the month not only snapped a run of seven league matches without a victory, it marked an upturn in fortunes.

Rotherham have kicked on to take ten points from the last 12 and stand just two points shy of the League One play-off positions going into the clash with the Saddlers.

Warne told the Advertiser: "Even when we were on our bad run the lads didn't lose belief in what we were trying to do. They kept nice and close.

"Since half time at Blackpool they have dug in and played really well and I'm proud of them and pleased for them because it makes a nice Christmas for them as well.

"They've been great lately and got some good results. We've bounced back from a dodgy spell and hopefully it's the only one we're going to have."

Happy man...Paul Warne.

Warne must decide whether to start top scorer Kieffer Moore, back from suspension, in the last fixture before his expected return to parent club Ipswich. Richie Towell is recovering well from the back problem which forced him out of Tuesday's win at Bury and could be available. Jon Taylor and Darren Potter are still out.

Walsall sit mid-table in League One, six points shy of the Millers.

Added Warne: "They can play and Erhun Oztumer is their best attacking outlet. They have a pretty decent home record as well.

"If we could pick something on the road again then it would set us up nicely for our match back here against Blackburn on Monday."
