Warne hoping for signings before tonight's clash

PAUL Warne is hopeful of making one or two additions to his squad by the time the team bus arrives at Nottingham Forest tonight.

The interim manager is pressing on with completing his January transfer business before the Championship clash.

He said: "All the staff have been in all day, we have made numerous phone calls as you can imagine. I think we have couple of options and I am hopeful of adding a couple of bodies before the 11pm deadline.

"Things are looking promising but as I have seen over the past few weeks, things can sometimes do a 360. We have covered all the bases, spoke to all the people we want to speak to and got the targets in sight. Hopefully by the time I get to the Forest ground tonight I'll have a phone call saying they have come through, which will be pleasing for me."

The Millers have wrapped up deals for goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell, defenders Ben Purrington and Semi Ajayi and Swansea winger Alex Bray already.

Now 11 points from the Championship safety line, the Millers will be chasing their first away win of the season against a similarly out-of-form Forest side. They've won only one of the last ten and with Nigel Clough having rejected the chance to return to the club, they will again be led by caretaker manager Gary Brazil.

Warne went to watch their defeat at Leeds last week.

He added: "They've an excellent side and if you look at their names on paper, they should be doing better than they are, but they've changed manager and Gary Brazil has come in and the players played really well for him.

"With us losing on Saturday and Burton winning, the league table doesn't look amazing, but we'll send the lads out with no fear."

Joe Newell and Tom Adeyemi are expected to return to the ranks from injury but the match comes too soon for skipper Lee Frecklington. Richard Wood is in the fray after shaking off the knock he picked up in Saturday's defeat to Barnsley.

Darnell Fisher and Aimen Belaid both miss the clash with hamstring injuries sustained at the weekend.

Kick-off is 7.45pm.
