Warne adds Breckin to backroom staff

CARETAKER manager Paul Warne has added former Rotherham United player and assistant manager John Breckin to his coaching team on a temporary basis.
Millers legend Breckin has worked at the club previously as assistant manager to three bosses, as well as being a player in the 1970s and 80s.

Warne told us last week that he was hoping to appoint an experienced coach to help him and academy coach Matt Hamshaw with first team duties until the club find a permanent manager.

Speaking after the announcement, Warne said: "We first spoke to John last week but I think because it was chaotic I didn’t want to bring him in before the game."

“Everyone knows him, he is a Miller and he has said he will come in and help me and the club, so I am delighted.

“He has been in the dugout for many games, he is very experienced and you cannot put a price on that.

“I saw him after the game on Saturday, I was beating myself up a little and he was just a voice of calm.

“He talks football similar to me, he doesn’t over complicate the game and a lot of my football beliefs have come through him."
