The 19-year-old from Thrybergh is to spar with Ricky Burns ahead of his WBO Super-Featherweight world title fight against Roman Martinez on September 4.

Chad, who has notched four pro wins out of four so far, travelled up yesterday for an all-expenses-paid, two-week sparring camp in Glasgow.

His trainer, Jamie Kennedy from the Millennium Boxing Club at Westgate, said: "Chad is really buzzing and it shows how well he's thought of. There are other boxers that could have been asked.

"It's come at the right time too because he fights at the Doncaster Dome three weeks later. This will be good preparation for that."
