School kids are smash hits

WHILE the big names of tennis have been battling it out at Wimbledon, budding players from Rotherham have been impressing with their own court skills.

Seven teams battled for the honour of being crowned Years 3 and 4 Rawmarsh Schools Sport Partnership mini red tennis champions.

Some excellent tennis was played by all players with a marked improvement in standards across the board.

A fantastic final was fought out between Brinsworth Howarth and Blackburn Primary School, with Blackburn running out narrow winners.
