Ronnie Moore joins Jeff Stelling on marathon walk for Prostate Cancer UK
Ronnie (64), who had two spells in the dugout at Rotherham, walked from Barnsley’s Oakwell stadium to Bradford City’s Northern Commercial Stadium on Tuesday.
Ronnie said: “It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

“I was fine for about 20 miles and everybody had told me to buy these special socks that allow your feet to breathe but I ended up with two or three blisters on each foot so the last six miles were gruelling to be honest.”
Jeff and his team are due to finish his March For Men challenge at Newcastle United’s St James’ Park stadium today.
The walk was the 12th of 15 in as many days for Jeff and his team as he clocked up 400 miles from Exeter to Newcastle.
Ronnie said: “I don’t know how Jeff does it — he is just a machine.
“It’s fantastic the way he has taken this fundraising on.”

Ronnie was also joined by Jeff’s Soccer Saturday colleague Chris Kamara and former Wigan manager Paul Jewell on Tuesday.
He has raised more than £500 in sponsorship so far and thanked those who had donated.
“We had a great laugh and that helped push everybody on,” Ronnie added. “We left Oakwell at 8.30am and got to Bradford at 5.30pm so it was a decent walk.
“I would do it again if I was asked but I wouldn’t be jumping at the chance.

“I was down to do it last year when I was in charge at Hartlepool but had to cancel at the last minute — I wasn’t sure Jeff believed me so I said I’d do it this time and he went and changed it from ten marathons in ten days to 15 in 15.”
