Ronnie faces selection posers

MILLERS manager Ronnie Moore has a couple of selection posers ahead of tomorrow’s derby clash against Chesterfield at Don Valley Stadium.

Striker Tom Pope and midfielder Mark Bradley are both pressing hard for starting places having impressed as second-half substitutes in Saturday’s win at Barnet.

Pope continued his successful return from a broken metatarsal by scoring in the 4-1 win and followed that up with another goal for the reserves in midweek.

Welsh international midfielder Bradley had a hand in two of the goals at Barnet and will warrant serious consideration for a place in the middle of the park.

Tomorrow’s match against the unbeaten Spireites is the first of two successive derby games, with Bradford City to follow at Don Valley on Tuesday, and Moore expects his men to be up for the challenge as they look to improve upon fifth spot in the early standings in League Two.

He said: “We know it’s going to be tough. Derby games always are. They’re always played at a frantic pace because no-one wants to lose.
