REACTION: Boss Warne pleased half time shake-up had desired effect

The Millers started with a 3-5-2 formation but after a lacklustre first half, Warne made two substitutions and switched to a 4-4-2 at the break, moves that proved masterful.

David Ball struck twice in the second half to secure all three points, and send over 900 Rotherham fans home with the first taste of victory in the league in eight games.

Warne said: "I'm pretty excited to be honest because in the dressing room it's been a while since we have tasted victory.

"We've performed well over recent weeks but not amazing, we haven't collected enough points.

"We obviously had to change it at half time, so I made some changes and played a different way int he second half and thought we were more on the front-foot.

"We'd worked on a 3-5-2 all week, unfortunately (Lee) Frecklington dropped out last night which made a massive change to the personnel, so it didn't really work as well as it had done in training.

"I thought defensively we looked OK and if it had been 0-0 I might have stuck with it, but I realised we needed to change for the positive, and I thought Jerry (Yates) and Fordey (Anthony Forde) had massive impacts."
