Premier names eye Rotherham job

TWO ex-Premier League players have thrown their hat into the ring for the vacant Rotherham United manager's job.

It is understood two former top flight names wanting to take their first steps into management are among the 46 applicants hoping to revive the Championship's bottom club.

The board intend taking their time and are willing to leave caretaker manager Paul Warne and his coaching team in charge into the New Year if need be.

Chairman Tony Stewart said: “You take stock and think of the managers who showed their worth at Rotherham, such as Ronnie Moore, Steve Evans and Neil Warnock. They were all bubbling and enthusiastic and that's the model we're looking for."
