SUB-ZERO temperatures have put the Millers' Boxing Day match against Darlington in doubt, with manager Ronnie Moore admitting: "we'll be very lucky if we get it on."

After Saturday's home date against Dagenham was frozen off, Rotherham now face the possibility of a second successive postponement.

Moore said last night: "The pitch is still rock hard. We've had the covers off during the day but the sun hasn't been getting high enough to take the temperature up and there's a real chill factor around. It's been absolutely bitter at the training ground this week.

"Our groundsman, Jim Davison, is trying his best but it's unfortunate that the frost might beat us.

"I know warmer temperatures are forecast for Christmas Day but will that be enough?"

Should it go ahead, kick-off on Saturday is 3pm.

Rotherham visit Chesterfield on Monday (1pm).
