Maggs back for Titans

KEVIN Maggs makes his first start since returning to Rotherham Titans—after head coach Craig West insisted that the former Irish international plays against his home-town club.

Big guns Bristol head to Clifton Lane tomorrow with ex-Memorial Ground stalwart Maggs starting at inside centre alongside PJ Gidlow.

And West says the decision will be just the ticket as Rotherham aim to blast their way out of the Championship’s bottom four and halt second-place Bristol’s hopes of a sixth-successive league win.

He said: “Kevin’s job is to pick the backs but I told him this was one selection that I was going to demand.

“I think he sometimes under-estimates how much influence he has on the team and it’s important that he’s out there and communicating on the field.”
