AT least two Rotherham United players could be going out on loan as manager Ronnie Moore sets about fine-tuning his squad.

It is understood that the Millers have had an inquiry from Blue Square Premier Division outfit Mansfield Town about striker Ryan Taylor while his namesake, midfielder Jason Taylor (pictured), is wanted by Rochdale.

Both have struggled to hold down a regular place this season.

Moore has alerted all clubs that he has people available for loan because he wants to move four or five out in order to bring four of five better ones in.

He made a start on that yesterday by completing his first signing with the arrival central midfielder Gary Roberts on an initial one-month loan deal.

Roberts (22) has had drink and gambling problems but has been offered a second chance by the Millers following his release by Yeovil in the summer.

Moore said the player's attitude had been good during his two-week trial spell and added: "We need variety and Roberts will give us that because he can hit long and short range passes."

Moore said the new man would play some part at Torquay United tomorrow as the Millers chase a third straight success following back-to-back wins at Wealdstone in the FA Cup and Port Vale in the league.

Tomorrow's game is followed by a Don Valley date with Lincoln City on Tuesday.
