Lincoln City skipper not on Warne's radar

MILLERS chief Paul Warne has denied interest in Lincoln City captain Luke Waterfall.

The defender has helped the Imps back to the Football League after a six-year absence and has been linked with a possible switch to the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Warne says that while he admires what Lincoln have done this season in the league and the FA Cup, in which they put out Ipswich, Brighton and Burnley in a run to the quarter-finals, Waterfall wasn't in his sights.

"I've been to watch Lincoln a couple of times," Warne told the Advertiser. "I understand there is a lot of commotion about them because they have done well. They've got out of the National League and deservedly so.

"I've watched their players but I also know there were a significant amount of scouts at the games I went to and the prices I think might be inflated.

"Collectively they're really good and they have got some good individuals within the group but I haven't specifically targeted Waterfall."
