Liddell's rallying call

ANDY Liddell has set his side a target of maximising their points in the remaining seven games, saying the Millers won’t give up on promotion without one heck of a fight.

In a rallying call ahead of tomorrow’s Don Valley clash with Morecambe, Liddell said: “It is a must-win game but then again they all are\_we want to win every game we play and that’s what we’re aiming for.”

In a helter-skelter first week in management following the departure of Ronnie Moore, Liddell quickly tasted the highs and lows of being in the front line as Rotherham swamped Lincoln 6-0 at Sincil Bank last Friday but then went down 3-1 a home to fellow promotion-chasers Shrewsbury on Tuesday night. That saw United drop to ninth.

Now they face a Morecambe side which has already upset the apple cart at both Chesterfield and Shrewsbury and which will provide another massive test tomorrow.t

Said caretaker boss Liddell: “There are only four points between us and the automatic promotion places, that’s a win and a draw.

"There are a lot of hard games to come, starting this week against a side who have won some big games. But we’ll target wins in every game we play."
