Former Rotherham United hotshot named Ilkeston boss

FORMER Millers striker Shaun Goater has been named boss of Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division side Ilkeston Town.

The former Bemuda international takes over at the second from bottom Robins following the departure of former manager Paul Holland on Friday morning.

The 46-year-old graced the Millmoor turf between 1989 and 1996 before moving on to star for Manchester City and Reading.

Goater, who scored 86 goals in more than 250 appearances for the Millers, has previously managed North Village Rams in his home country.
