Forde looks for Birmingham boost

WINGER Anthony Forde says Rotherham United must put into practice the lessons of their latest defeat when they take on Birmingham City on Friday.

Twice leading at Wigan last weekend, they were twice pegged back before losing to a 97th minute goal after a needless spat between goalkeeper Lewis Price and Latics substitute Nick Powell.

Even though Rotherham are already relegated from the Championship, it was one of the most painful of their 32nd defeats this season.

"It was very tough to take," conceded Forde. "We scored twice and when we score we need to keep a lead. Wigan got their second goal and the game changed and that's when we lacked quality.

"We needed to be more confident on the ball and keep it and make better decisions at that stage. We should have held on."

Forde scored Rotherham's second goal before having to come off injured but wants to be involved when Birmingham, another struggling side, come to town on Friday.

"It's a massive game as well. We know we're relegated now but we need results," added Forde.
