Evans lines up new signings

And he says that his squad plans are nearing completion as the countdown to the new season gets under way.

Evans was this week linked with Carlisle United’s Jon-Paul McGovern, who was formerly with Sheffield Wednesday, and Manchester United youngster Robbie Brady, who played 39 games on loan to Hull City last term.

They are among several players  who have been involved in signing speculation, including Shrewsbury’s Lionel Ainsworth and former Colchester wingman Ashley Vincent.

Said Evans: “We have spoken to several players and those talks are ongoing."
