Curtis faces Magna toughie

DON’T be surprised if Curtis Woodhouse hits the canvas before going on to win at Magna on Sunday.

That’s the message from his camp as the 29-year-old defends his International Masters crown against new—and highly-dangerous—opponent Steve Saville.

The 33-year-old from Walsall this week agreed to the fight after scheduled opponent Godfrey Sowah was forced to withdraw because he couldn’t get a flight from Ghana following the air travel disruption.

And Woodhouse knows that he’s certainly taking on a tough nut.

“It’ll be one hell of a fight because the lad can punch,” he said.

“He’s about five feet five tall and the same in width! He’s one of the hardest hitters you’re likely to come across so everyone is expecting a big tear-up.

“One of us is likely to go down and if it’s me I’ll have to pick myself up and get on with the job. He will be difficult but I know I’ve got some bombs and he’s going to have to cope with them."
