NEW boy Adam Rundle has revealed the dressing room banter which brought star man Adam Le Fondre down to earth after Tuesday's spectacular performance against Lincoln.

Le Fondre hit two of the best goals seen at Don Valley but missed out on a first-ever senior hat-trick when his missed a penalty in the dying minutes.

Rundle, a good friend of his new team-mate from their Rochdale days, was quick to congratulate Le Fondre on his classy  double—but there was plenty of dressing room ribbing when the striker missed from the spot.

“I don’t want to big him up too much but  scoring goals like that is what he’s been good at ever since I’ve known him,” said Rundle.

“If we put the ball in the box and give him half-chances and he’ll put them away.

“He was on about scoring a hat-trick before the game because he never did when he was at Rochdale and he had the chance with that late penalty—he’ll be a bit gutted that he missed it.

"I told him afterwards that we’d have to take him off penalties in future and that I’d be doing it! You've got to give him a bit of stick!”
