British supercar manufacturer McLaren shipped its latest creation to the Castellolí Circuit, near Barcelona, Spain, to gather this intense footage of a flying lap.

Air brake in action, tyres screeching, it is the first time that many petrolheads will have seen the car, capable of a 2.9 second sprint to 62mph and a 205mph top speed, at full-chat.

Claimed to be the lightest car in its class, the stripped out, driver-focused the 675LT is billed as “the most track-focused, yet road legal, McLaren series production model to date”.

Production of the LT is limited to 500, however, all of which have already sold out — even at £259,500.

The 675LT, the first McLaren in nearly two decades to wear the LT – or ‘Longtail’ – name.

Its enhanced styling that results in 40 percent more downforce than the McLaren 650S.

“The Longtail is a famous name in the history of McLaren, first used on the fastest version of the iconic McLaren F1,” said Mike Flewitt, McLaren Automotive Chief Executive Officer. 

“The McLaren F1 GTR ‘Longtail’ was the final highly successful iteration of the F1, and it is an appropriate name for the most exhilarating and driver-focused version of the Super Series. 

“The 675LT is the purest distillation of what McLaren stands for – pure driving pleasure.”
