Ulley Sailing Club rides a new wave of interest

The club held a Discover Sailing day which was blessed by fine weather and many inquistive newcomers.

Ulley's Nicola Panter said: “Our team of six volunteer helms managed to get 116 visitors out on the water for a ten-15 minute taster sail — no mean feat when our boats can only carry three to four people at any one time.

“We've had some great feedback about the club's atmosphere and friendliness.

“We have some amazing members who all helped out wherever they could. The day was a real team effort and we all really enjoyed the day.”

Young sailors Theo and Nula Gregory enjoyed Ulley Sailing Club's recent open day.

Nicky added: “We booked potential new members onto our half-day sailing experiences and our Royal Yachting Association sailing courses and are extremely happy with the number of membership forms completed as a consequence.”
