Tonge extends stay with Millers

DEFENDER Dale Tonge has signed a new two-year deal with Rotherham United.

The full-back was one of six players offered new terms at the end of last season and he follows goalkeeper Jamie Annerson and youngster Ollie Banks in committing his future to the Millers.

"It was great to be offered a new deal and I'm happy to sign," said Tonge.  "It offers me some security and I'm happy to be one of the longest serving players at a really good club."

As reported in the Advertiser on Friday, manager Andy Scott has begun his summer recruitment by signing midfielder Ben Pringle from Derby County and striker Gareth Evans from Bradford City.

"I'm looking forward to putting on the red shirt. I can't wait to get going," said Evans.

Pringle added: "The gaffer sold this club to me. I want to play as many games as I can and that is the main reason I have signed. It is an up and coming club with a new stadium on the way."
