Titans will have to front up

COACH Mark Jones will tell his Titans players to be prepared for a physical battle when they front up to Moseley in tomorrow's big Championship basement clash.

Six straight league defeats have dropped Rotherham uncomfortably close to the relegation zone and a defeat tomorrow could nudge them further towards the bottom two.

It's a “must win” for Moseley, seven points behind, and they have also came out on top in the last two meetings between the teams, in the British and Irish Cup. With league points on the line, the intensity will be much higher this time and Jones says his players have every motivation to meet the challenge and bag what could be a pivotal victory.

“Moseley are very well drilled,” he said. “They've a large pack and a lot of physicality and last week they went to Jersey and fronted up very well.

“Moseley have beaten us twice already and they will see this as a big opportunity.

“There's still a long way to go and the teams in and around the middle pack are all playing each other. The season will not be defined by this one game but a victory could give a shot in the arm going forward, although we are doing nothing more than focus on the next 80 minutes of rugby.”

Kick-off is 3pm.
