Titans talk to Jones over coaching job

FORMER Welsh international Mark Jones could be the next coach at Rotherham Titans.

It is understood that the 35-year-old is high on the Clifton Lane club's target list as Lee Blackett prepares to head to the Premiership as backs coach with Wasps. Last week, the Advertiser reported that initial favourite Scott Barrow had withdrawn from the race for personal reasons.

Reports suggest that Jones will meet club directors Nick Cragg and Martin Jenkinson. If he ticks the right boxes, then they will push for a deal to be struck.

Jones played on the wing for Scarlets at the top level and also make 49 appearances for Wales.

He moved into coaching after hanging up his boots and was latterly attack coach with Scarlets before quitting after a brief spell, citing a difference in rugby direction and philosophy as the reason.
