Titans in confident mood

TITANS prepare for their Championship opener this weekend with coach Andre Bester stating: "We will make the promotion play-offs."

Boosted by 15 new signings, Rotherham kick off away to London Scottish on Sunday (2pm), scene of an opening-day defeat last year.

Bester insists the team is better equipped this time but has warned that the path to the promotion play-offs, this year reduced to four teams, will be harder.

He said: "The Championship is getting stronger year after year because more full-time players are coming into it and you can't expect to win any game any more. You have to earn it.

"The same goes for this weekend. London Scottish have recruited heavily and have some quality players but you can only beat what is in front of you and that's what we'll be tryng to do.

"We know what to expect down there this time. We have seven or eight players who have all played there and that should stand us in good stead.

I am not saying we are aiming for the top four. We will be in the top four."
