Titans face Jersey test

TITANS break new ground tomorrow with their first-ever visit to English rugby’s farthest flung club — and it’s a game they need to win.

They face a Jersey side desperate for points at the bottom of the RFU Championship and know that defeat could be the beginning of a nervy spell with Rotherham facing some tough subsequent games.

Jersey are currently second from the foot of the table, two points ahead of Doncaster, but have pulled their socks up following a tough baptism in the division, when they lost their first six matches, including a 54-31 battering at Clifton Lane.

That game saw the Islanders glean their first point of the campaign as they scored four tries, which gave a strong hint that better fortunes were around the corner.

Since then, Jersey have carded home wins against London Scottish, Plymouth and notably Leeds Carnegie last time out in the league, while only losing by four points at Moseley.
