Titans close in on new coach

TITANS hope to be able to unveil their new head coach next week, with chairman Nick Cragg admitting: “It's a big appointment.”

The club have been careful and meticulous in choosing a successor to Wasps-bound Lee Blackett and have now narrowed their search.

The new man has big boots to fill, with Blackett having steered Rotherham to the Championship promotion play-offs two years on the spin.

However Titans have a habit of unearthing and developing coaching and playing talent and Mr Cragg wants the next man to have the ability to carry on Blackett's good work when he leaves to take up his new post shortly.

Mr Cragg told the Advertiser: “We are working hard on finding a new coach, helped by Lee and (forwards coach) Steve Salvin. There has been an awful lot of people in the frame and we hope to be in a position to announce something next week.

“It is a big appointment. We got it right last time with Lee and we have to try and do it again."
