Titans can make sure of safety

ROTHERHAM Titans can head off to Jersey this weekend without any relegation pressure.

That’s the view of Justin Burnell after last week’s win over Nottingham effectively secured the Clifton Lane men’s place in the Championship. By the time they run out at St Peter, it should all be done and dusted, providing Doncaster don’t implode tonight at home to basement boys Moseley.

But it’ll  be a hefty task against the Islanders, who have set their sights on a last-gasp lunge towards the play-offs. They beat London Scottish at home last week which, coupled with Bedford’s defeat at Leeds, means that Harvey Biljon’s team trail the Blues by eight points.

Although it appears a huge ask to close the gap, on paper, they have the easiest run-in of the three clubs and Biljon knows there can’t be a slip against Rotherham.

It’ll be interesting to see how a relaxed Titans cope, with St Peter being a tough ground to visit in normal circumstances.

Said Burnell: “We’ll be able to go to Jersey and enjoy ourselves.

“We know it’s always a difficult place to go but we’re confident after Saturday’s win over Nottingham.”

Burnell will finalise his side today.
