Titans aim to win the mind games

STRUGGLING Titans say they are aiming to focus their mind games ahead of two massive matches.

Coach Mark Jones needs a win after eight successive league and cup defeats have ripped confidence levels apart. Last Sunday’s defeat at Doncaster saw them slip to third from bottom of the Championship.

Rotherham now take on runaway leaders Bristol tomorrow  at Clifton Lane (2pm) and then head to Moseley next week for a bottom-end showdown, the midlanders having the chance to close the gap to just three points with a win.

Jones knows that victory in either game will give his squad a masssive boost — but recognises how tough both will be.

“This run of form isn’t good. No-one is shying away from that and we know we have to get back to winning ways,” he said.

“When you are  on a run like ours that can have a big psychological effect. I thought we did very well in lots of areas at Doncaster but there’s no getting away from the deficiencies we have in our game at the moment.

“We are constantly searching for that little bit of luck that will give us the encouragement and confidence that we need to push us on."
