Swim ace heads for Olympics after world success

SWIM star Nick Grainger says he wants to build on his gold medal success at the World Swimming Championships as the countdown gets under way for next summer’s Olympics.

The 20-year-old from Swinton has a realistic shot at making the Rio team if he continues making the strides which saw him given a place in Great Britain’s six-man squad for the 4x200m relay team in Russia.

Nick was second off in the qualifying heat behind Rob Renwick and ahead of Dan Wallace and Duncan Scott, timing a slick 1:47.19 as Britain finished a comfortable third.
