Stubbs philosophical over injuries

MILLERS manager Alan Stubbs has played down the absence of senior players during the opening weeks of the Championship season.

Injury has left him without the services of the influential Kirk Broadfoot and Lee Frecklington, with Broadfoot not expected back until the first game after the next international break. That is the fixture at Norwich City on October 15.

Frecklington is due to make a rare start against Cardiff City at the AESSEAL New York Stadium this afternoon but Stubbs accepts injuries as part of the job.

"We have had them but that's part and parcel of football," he told the Advertiser. "We would have liked them (Broadfoot and Frecklington) with us because they are very important members of the squad but we have to try and make do and that's where other people get opportunities and you'd like them to take them."
