Stubbs nearing his best 11

THE Millers could soon be in a position to pitch their strongest 11 into Championship combat.

THE Millers could soon be in a position to field their strongest 11 for the first time this season.

That's the view of Alan Stubbs, who expects to have the influential Lee Frecklington back fit for Saturday's match against Bristol City after a lengthy spell in the treatment room.

Midfield man Tom Adeyemi got 90 minutes in a behind-closed-doors game on Tuesday and is expected to be fit to play. Greg Halford has had tonsilitis but is returning to training and available.

Stubbs said: "We're starting to look healthier and I'm looking forward to being able to play the same 11 from one week to the next, or our strongest 11, very soon.

"Also, Joe Newell played 90 minutes in a behind-closed-doors game this week and came through with no problem, which will do him the world of good.

"Kirk Broadfoot is doing really well, he's on schedule if not ahead of it."

Stubbs added that new signing Dexter Blackstock would not figure this weekend as he is still a week away from match sharpness.
