Oxford, who still have ambitions to reach the play-offs and beat high-flying Port Vale on Saturday, will be a tough proposition at the Kassam Stadium but Mullins is optimistic.

He said: "I thought it was quite a good away performance at Southend, particularly in the first half, and then we dug in in the second half.

"It was another point, we're unbeaten in five now and we need to keep that run going."

Team-mate Kark Arnason added: "Some people say you should be happy with a draw away from home but I think we should have finished it in the first half when we had complete control. In the second half we lost it but I thought we were comfortable defensively and all in all a point wasn't too bad."

A win tonight would lift Rotherham up to third place in League Two providing Cheltenham fail to beat Chesterfield.
