Skipper targets victory

SKIPPER Craig Morgan wants Rotherham United to sort out their problems and make sure they deliver the win many expect this weekend.

A central pillar of the side over two success-drenched years, Morgan is experiencing a rare low at the New York Stadium.

He's the first to admit that the team hasn't been good enough in a barren November that's produced just one point and no goals.

By the same token, nor was he fooled when Rotherham were holding their own and winning plaudits in the opening couple of months of the season.

He knew the going would get hard at some point and as the urgency increases and bottom side Blackpool roll into town, he says it is time to start ironing out the creases and turning things around.

“Points are becoming massive now as to where we are in the league,” Morgan told the Advertiser. “We're obviously not picking them up or scoring or keeping clean sheets, although we had one at Hillsborough.

“We've got a few problems but we knew it was going to be difficult. We were a League Two club a couple of years ago and we didn't get carried away at the start when we were higher up.

“Now you look at the table and see yourselves in the bottom three. You're always going to be conscious of that but even when you're five points above and not winning games, you know eventually you're going to be down there at some point.

“We've got Blackpool next and everybody will expect us to go out and beat them, but they aren't a bad side. All their games have been close this year, they've not been hammered. Obviously they're down there for a reason but so are we.

“It's a match we know we can win and we want to go and win.”
