Scott starts re-building job

ROTHERHAM United chief Andy Scott saluted their last-day win over Torquay United—and then began the job of re-shaping his squad for next season.

The manager will begin meeting his ten out-of-contract players today to tell them whether they have been offered new deals or not.

Several are expected to go as he clears the decks to bring in his own men, but new contracts are expected to be on the table for striker Ryan Taylor and midfielder Nicky Law.

Scott said: "Some will know what they are going to be doing, they'll know whether they're signing or not.

"Some might expect contracts, some might not. All those out of contract and who are made offers, it's up to them whether they sign."

Taylor scored the first goal in Saturday's 3-1 win,  the Millers' first victory in eight games. It ensured they finished ninth in League Two.

Danny Harrison was also on the mark while youth product Oliver Banks marked his debut by coming on to score the third goal ten minutes from time.

"I asked them to show me they should have been in the play-offs or better and I think they proved that," said Scott.

"It was a dream debut for Olly too—I'm delighted for him."
