Scott seeks new blood

MILLERS chief Andy Scott is working to bring in more new faces before Saturday's League Two opener against Oxford United.

Rotherham went down 3-1 at home to Huddersfield Town on Saturday in the wake of losses to Sheffield Wednesday and Scunthorpe United.

Despite only one win so far in pre-season, in their first game against Grimsby Town, Scott is happy with the way his squad is shaping up but recognises there is a need to strengthen in certain areas.

"I would like to get something done," he said. "We've a couple of irons in the fire heating up but whether we get them for Saturday or not is another matter.

"Having said that I'm very pleased with what we've assembled here. There is going to be teething problems along the way but the first six weeks of pre-season have been fantastic."

The Millers, who had new signing Chris Holroyd on the scoresheet on Saturday, send a team to take on Parkgate tonight (7pm) in the last of their warm-up games.
