Scott rues lack of quality

MANAGER Andy Scott bemoaned Rotherham United's shortcomings after Saturday's last gasp defeat to Bristol Rovers.

ROTHERHAM United chief Andy Scott had little sympathy for his players despite Saturday's last gasp defeat to Bristol Rovers.

Andy Dorman's stoppage-time effort settled the contest after the Millers had dominated the second half, with Scott admitting they weren't good enough on the day.

"It was a sickener but we didn't have enough quality on the ball and that's what happens," he said. "We didn't deserve to lose the game, but we didn't deserve to win it. Bristol Rovers came for a point and ended up getting all three."

His thoughts were echoed by Andy Warrington. Back in goal for a rare start in place of the injured Rhys Taylor, he saw his chance of a clean sheet snatched away at the death.

He said: "It was a very slow tempo in the first half and we didn't set about them whereas in the second we did. We were more dangerous and looked like the team that was going to get the goal so it was bitterly disappointing to concede in the last minute. We just switched off and you can't do that."

The Millers drop to 11th in League Two, six points shy of the play-offs.

A busy March involving eight games—five of them at home—kicks off with a trip to lowly Barnet on Saturday.
