Scott in upbeat mood

ROTHERHAM United tackle Torquay United at Don Valley Stadium tonight with boss Andy Scott seeing real improvement in his squad.

Saturday's win over Plymouth lifted the Millers to within five points of the League Two play-off frame and they can get closer with a good result this evening.

They've lost just one in eight and while that run has produced only three wins, Scott reckons the omens are good.

He said: "We're on a very good run at the moment. Defensively we are very sound and that has given us a platform to pick up some points and we could have had more. All we can do is keep winning our games.

"I think the changes we made in January to narrow the squad down and make it a tight group have worked. Everyone is fit and capable of coming into the side when required and taking their chance."

Victory would take Rotherham to within two points of seventh-placed Oxford United, Saturday's opponents at the Kassam Stadium, but high-flying Torquay also have plenty of motivation to do well. Three points tonight will put them second.

Kick-off is 7.45pm.
