Ronnie raps dire Millers

AN angry Ronnie Moore blasted his Rotherham United players after Saturday's limp defeat at Southend, saying some of them didn't deserve their wages.

The lacklusture Millers turned in their worst performance in a long time as they slipped to a second successive defeat.

Blair Sturrock's fifth minute goal sentenced them to a 1-0 loss but it could have been much heavier but for some wayward finishing by home side.

Rotherham failed to muster a serious shot on goal in the entire second half and Moore was heavily critical of his team afterwards and promised changes for tomorrow's home match against Macclesfield.

He said: "They've had their ears rapped. We made it difficult for ourselves and there was too much long ball.

"It was lacklustre, not enough effort, and at times you feel that if you could stop their wages you'd do it because a lot of them didn't earn it.

"I'm not having that and there will be one or two changes on Tuesday, that's for sure."

To cap a bad day, new midfielder Mark Randall came off injured inside the first 20 minutes with a shoulder injury.

The Arsenal man and will be missing tomorrow and an x-ray today will reveal the full extent of the damage.

Saturday's defeat left the Millers fifth in League Two, five points off the automatic promotion frame.
