Rhodes impresses for Titans

MATT Rhodes staked his claim for a starting role in the play-offs with an impressive display against Bristol.

With regular skipper Joe Bedford being given time to recharge his batteries, former squaddie Rhodes was also handed the captaincy.

“It was my first full start in the Championship and it was nice to be given the captaincy as well,” he said.

“I enjoyed the game although we did lose our way in the second half.

“But there were plenty of positives for us to take into the next games.

“I think if we can play to our potential then there’s no reason why we can’t make an impact. But the one thing we have to sort out is our away form.”

Titans coach Andre Bester knows Rhodes is an able and capable deputy for Bedford.

“He always works his backside off, never complains and just gets on with the job,” he said.
